Quick Start Guide

Learn how to create your first Expert Advisor in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Create a New Expert Advisor

Navigate to My Expert Advisors and click the Create New EA button. Give your EA a meaningful name and description.

Step 2: Add Indicators

Click on Add Indicator in the builder. Browse the indicator library and select the indicators you want to use. For example:

• RSI - Relative Strength Index for momentum
• Moving Average - Trend following indicator
• MACD - Trend and momentum combined

Configure each indicator's parameters (period, levels, etc.) according to your strategy.

Step 3: Define Trading Signals

Set up your entry and exit conditions:

• Open Buy Signals: When should the EA open a buy position?
• Open Sell Signals: When should the EA open a sell position?
• Close Buy/Sell Signals: When should positions be closed?

Example: Open Buy when RSI crosses above 30 and close when RSI crosses above 70.

Step 4: Configure Strategies

Add risk management and trading rules:

• Stop Loss: Protect against losses (Fixed, Trailing, etc.)
• Take Profit: Lock in profits at target levels
• Money Management: Control position sizing
• Prevent Opening: Time filters, max positions, daily loss limits

Step 5: Export to MetaTrader 5

Once you're satisfied with your configuration:

1. Click Export
2. Choose to download as .mq5 (source) or .ex5 (compiled)
3. Copy the file to your MetaTrader 5 Experts folder
4. Restart MT5 and find your EA in the Navigator

Tips for Beginners

• Start simple - use 1-2 indicators and basic signals
• Always backtest your EA on historical data before live trading
• Use proper risk management (stop loss is mandatory)
• Test on a demo account first
