Configuring Parameters
Each indicator has customizable parameters. Common parameters include:
- Period: Number of bars/candles to analyze (e.g., 14, 20, 50)
- Applied Price: Which price to use (Close, Open, High, Low, etc.)
- Method: Calculation method (Simple, Exponential, etc.)
- Levels: Threshold values (e.g., RSI 30/70 levels)
Using Multiple Indicators
You can add multiple instances of the same indicator with different parameters. For example, two Moving Averages with different periods for crossover strategies.
Best Practices
- Don't use too many indicators - this can lead to conflicting signals
- Understand what each indicator measures before using it
- Combine indicators from different categories (trend + momentum)
- Backtest your indicator combinations to verify effectiveness
